Taas jatkuu tauon jälkeen / Back on board after a long break

Tässä tuli vähän pidempi tauko, kun en käytännössä tehnyt ristipistotöitä lainkaan, mutta nyt olen taas ruodussa. Jee! Ainoa, mitä sain koko tauon aikana aikaiseksi näkyy alla olevassa kuvassa. Se on siis Scarlet Quincen Earth From Space At Night. Olen itse asiassa tehnyt sitä pikkuisen enemmän, mutta unohdin ottaa kuvan ennen kuin irrotin sen kirjontakehyksestä.

I had a long break from cross stitching, but now I'm back on track. The only thing thing I stitched during the break can be seen in the picture below. It's Scarlet Quince's Earth From Space At Night. I have actually done a bit more stitching on it, but I forgot to take a picture before I took it off the stitching frame.

Viime viikolla aloitin pistelemään myös Heaven and Earth Designsin Mini Yours Faithfullya. Alku on sujunut sukkelaan, koska tässä vaiheessa ei ole vielä sitä konfettia.

Last week I started to also stitch Mini Yours Faithfully from Heaven and Earth Designs. So far the stitching has been easy and fast, because there's no confetti stitching yet.

Tilasin myös juuri ennen taukoani Casa Ceninasta Riolisin pisteltävän kamera-/kännykkälaukun ja Kustom Kraftsin Winter Moon -mallin sekä kankaan sitä varten.

Before my break I ordered a Riolis' camera or phone bag kit and Kustom Krafts' Winter Moon pattern and a fabric for it from Casa Cenina.

Tässä vielä viime viikon löytöni. Biltemassa osui silmiini tällainen lokerikko ja ajattelin heti, että se olisi hyvä säilytyspaikka ristipistolangoilleni. Tuo lokerikko on kokonaan muovia ja se maksaa 13,90 euroa. Ei siis kovin kallis sijoitus.

And finally, here's my find from last week. When I saw it I thought it would be a perfect storage for my cross stitch floss. The whole case is made of plastic and it cost only 13.90 euros.

Kolmen viikon pistelyt / Three weeks' progress

En ole kirjoittanut blogiini kolmeen viikkoon, mutta olenkin edistynyt näiden viikkojen aikana yhteensä vain yhtä paljon kuin normaalisti viikossa.

I haven't posted in my blog for three weeks, but I have stitched during these weeks only as much as I normally would in one week.

Olen aloittanut myös uuden miniatyyripistelyn, jonka aion myydä, kun se on valmis. Se on Artecy Cross Stitchin Sunset With Palm Trees Bookmark.

I have also started a new miniature stitching, which I'm going to sell once it's done. It's Sunset With Palm Trees Bookmark from Artecy Cross Stitch.

Ostin myös Etsysta uuden mallin, jota olin katsellut jonkin aikaa. Se on tehty ensimmäisen Tähtien Sota - elokuvan julisteesta. En aio pistellä mallin mustia kohtia, joten sen tekemiseen ei pitäisi kulua hirveästi aikaa.

I have also bought a new  pattern form Etsy. I had been eyeing it for a while. It's made from the first Star Wars movie's poster. I won't be stitching the black spots, so it shouldn't take too long to stitch it.

Tilasin jo Sew It All -nettikaupasta kankaan tuolle Tähtien Sota -mallille sekä Earth from Space at Nightille. Molemmat ovat mustaa Oslo hardanger-kangasta eli 22 countia. Toisessa on päälle laitettua kimalle, joka näkyy kuvassa.

I already ordered the fabrics for the Star Wars and Earth from Space at Night from Sew It All. They are black 22 count Oslo hardanger fabric. One of then has added silver sparkles on top, which you can see in the picture.

Kahden viikon työ / Two week's work

Koska, kuten jo aiemmin sanoen, minulla on riittänyt nyt muuta puuhaa ja koska Mini Sunflowersissa tuli vastaan paha konfettikohta, en ole saanut tehtyä paljoa nyt kahden viikon aikana. Tein yhteensä ainoastaan 1226 pistoa. Minun pitäisi tehdä enemmän jo yhdessä viikossa. No, ei tämä ole mikään kilpailu, joten eipä sillä väliä. Näyttää kuitenkin siltä, että en ehkä ehdi siihen tämän kesän aikarajaan saadakseni uuden mallin ilmaiseksi. Jos haluaisin ehtiä siihen, minun pitäisi tehdä 435 pistoa päivässä.

As I said before, because I've been busy with other stuff and also because I hit a really confetti heavy patch on Mini Sunflowers, I haven't done very much in these past two weeks. I've managed to do only 1226 stitches. I'm supposed to do more than that in one week. Well, it's nor a race, so it really doesn't matter. However, it seems that I may not be able to enter this next reward program. To be able to make it, I'd have to do at least 435 stitches a day.

Scarlet Quincen nettisivuilla oli 10% alennus, joten minun täytyi viimein ostaa yksi malli, jota olen haikaillut jo muutaman vuoden. Ostin jo langatkin siihen jokin aika sitten, kun tiesin ostavani kyseisen mallin lähitulevaisuudessa. Mallin nimi on Earth from Space at Night. Siinä näkyy sopivasti Suomikin.

Scarlet Quince had a 10% sale on their website and I just had to buy a chart that I've been eyeing for a few years now. I already bought threads for it a while back and now I have the chart. It's called Earth from Space at Night. You can even see Finland in there.

Nyt puuttuu enää musta kangas, joka ikävä kyllä tulee maksamaan paljon. Scarlet Quincen malleissa käytetään "värisekoituksia", eli kahdella eri värillä kirjotaan yhtä aikaa. Minun täytyy siis kirjoa tämä malli kahdella säikeellä. Haluan silti käyttää niin tiheää kangasta kuin mahdollista, joten olen päätynyt 22 countiin. Sitä löytyy mustana brittiläisen Sew It Allin nettisivuilta. Se on ainoa paikka, josta löysin mustaa kangasta muuna kuin 18 tai 25 countina. Siellä kankaaseen myös lisätään hopeakimalletta, jos sitä haluaa. Sellainen taitaisi sopia hyvin tähän malliin taustan tähtitaivaaksi.

The only thing missing is the black fabric, which is going to be expensive. Scarlet Quince designs use blended colours, so I'll have to use two threads over one. I still want to use as high count a fabric as possible, so I've decided to use 22 count. They have black 22 count fabric on Sew It All's website. That's the only place where I've found something other than 18 count or 25 count black fabric. They also offer to put silver sparkles on the fabric if you want them. I think that the sparkles would be suitable for this project as a starry sky background.
