Mini Yours Faithfully 12. viikko / week 12

Nyt on kolmen viikon pistelyt takana, ja näyttää siltä, että olen siinä ajassa tehnyt noin sivun. Koiran naama oli melkoista konfettia ja se sujui hitaammin. Nyt noita parkkeerattuja lankojakin alkaa olla hyvä määrä.

After three weeks of stitching I seem to have stitched about one page. The dog's face was confetti heavy and stitching it was slower. And as you can see, there is a good amount of parked threads already.

Tänään tuli postissa eBay-ostokseni, DMC 310 -lankakartio. Siinä on noin 53 tokan edestä lankaa. Toivottavasti tuo riittää loppuelämäkseni, tai ainakin pariksi kymmeneksi vuodeksi. Nyt ei tarvitse huolehtia myöskään eri värjäyserien värieroista.

Today I received a DMC 310 thread cone that I purchased through eBay. It has about 53 skeins worth of thread. Hopefully it will last the rest of my life or at least a few decades. Now I don't have to worry about colour differences between dye batches.

Tilasin jo joku aika sitten tarvikkeita neulavahteihin. Tässä näitä mallina muutama. Kuvat olen itse tulostanut netistä. Lumihiutale ja kurpitsa loistavat pimeässä.

Some time ago I ordered supplies for some needle minders. Here's a few of them. I have printed the pictures from the internet. The snowflake and the pumpkin glow in the dark.

Uusi kirjontakehys / New stitching frame

Tilaamani kirjontakehys saapui jo Kiinasta. Alla olevassa kuvassa se on koottuna kaikkien osien kanssa. Kuva ei juuri vääristä, vaan se on vähän tuollainen vänkyrä, sillä reunimmaiset putket eivät ole ihan tarpeeksi pitkiä. En kuitenkaan käytä kehystä tuollaisena, joten se ei haittaa.

The stitching frame that I ordered from China has arrived. In the picture below it is assembled with all the pieces. The image is not distorted. The frame is actually a little crooked because the outermost pipes are not quite long enough. However, since I'm not using the frame in that form, it doesn't really matter.

This is the assembly that I'm mostly going to use.

Tässä on jo kirjontatyö ja ohje kehyksessä kiinni. Noita "puristimia", joilla kangas ja paperi ovat kiinni tuli mukaan 8 kappaletta.

Here's the frame with my stitching and a chart page in place. The frame included 8 pieces of those clamps that hold the fabric and paper.

Tämä on siis sylikehys. Nuo alimmaiset putket tulee jalkojen alle. Tästä piti myynti-ilmoituksen kuvien mukaan saada myös lattiakehys, mutta siitä puuttuu yksi putkenpätkä. Luulen, että se kuva oli eksynyt väärään ilmoitukseen. Kyllä sen silti vähän kikkailemalla saa lattiakehykseksikin. Myynti-ilmoituksen mukaan minun oiti saada myös ratkoja, kyniä ja langanpujottajia, mutta niitä ei tullutkaan. En jaksanut tosin valittaa niistä, kun en niitä edes olisi tarvinnut.

So, this model is a lap frame or actually a seat frame. The pipes below go underneath your legs. According to the listing you should also be able to make a floor frame out of this, but for that it's missing one piece of pipe. I think the picture of the floor frame was in the wrong listing. Anyway, you can turn this into a kind of floor frame. It's just not as stable as the intended floor frame would be. According to the listing I should also have received a seam ripper, pens and needle threaders, but I didn't get them. I didn't bother complaining about it, because i really don't need them.

Lopuksi sanoisin, että hintaisekseen ihan hyvä kehys. Ei ihan kaikista tukevin, mutta pysyy kuitenkin melko hyvin kasassa. Hinta oli siis 24.88 dollaria AliExpressissä. Tällä hetkellä minä maksoin siitä euroissa vähän päälle 23 euroa.

Finally I would say that the frame is worth it's price. It's not the most stable frame, but it holds together reasonably well. The price was 24.88 dollars at AliExpress. At the moment I paid for it in euros a little over 23 euros.

Taas jatkuu tauon jälkeen / Back on board after a long break

Tässä tuli vähän pidempi tauko, kun en käytännössä tehnyt ristipistotöitä lainkaan, mutta nyt olen taas ruodussa. Jee! Ainoa, mitä sain koko tauon aikana aikaiseksi näkyy alla olevassa kuvassa. Se on siis Scarlet Quincen Earth From Space At Night. Olen itse asiassa tehnyt sitä pikkuisen enemmän, mutta unohdin ottaa kuvan ennen kuin irrotin sen kirjontakehyksestä.

I had a long break from cross stitching, but now I'm back on track. The only thing thing I stitched during the break can be seen in the picture below. It's Scarlet Quince's Earth From Space At Night. I have actually done a bit more stitching on it, but I forgot to take a picture before I took it off the stitching frame.

Viime viikolla aloitin pistelemään myös Heaven and Earth Designsin Mini Yours Faithfullya. Alku on sujunut sukkelaan, koska tässä vaiheessa ei ole vielä sitä konfettia.

Last week I started to also stitch Mini Yours Faithfully from Heaven and Earth Designs. So far the stitching has been easy and fast, because there's no confetti stitching yet.

Tilasin myös juuri ennen taukoani Casa Ceninasta Riolisin pisteltävän kamera-/kännykkälaukun ja Kustom Kraftsin Winter Moon -mallin sekä kankaan sitä varten.

Before my break I ordered a Riolis' camera or phone bag kit and Kustom Krafts' Winter Moon pattern and a fabric for it from Casa Cenina.

Tässä vielä viime viikon löytöni. Biltemassa osui silmiini tällainen lokerikko ja ajattelin heti, että se olisi hyvä säilytyspaikka ristipistolangoilleni. Tuo lokerikko on kokonaan muovia ja se maksaa 13,90 euroa. Ei siis kovin kallis sijoitus.

And finally, here's my find from last week. When I saw it I thought it would be a perfect storage for my cross stitch floss. The whole case is made of plastic and it cost only 13.90 euros.

Paljon edistystä / Good progress this week

Tällä viikolla olen taas saanut tehtyä aika paljon. Ihan hyvä juttu. Jos tekisin pelkästään tätä Mini Sunflowersia seuraavien kolmen kuukauden ajan noin 400 pistoa päivässä, saisin sen ajoissa valmiiksi Heaven and Earth Designsin elokuun Reward Programiin. Se tarkoittaisi sitä, että voisin valita uuden, korkeintaan 12 dollaria maksavan mallin ilmaiseksi. Jos en ehdi siihen, seuraavan kerran se onnistuu tammikuussa.

This week I've manage to titch quite a lot, which is good. If I would only stitch this Mini Sunflowers for the next three months and about 400 stitches a day, it would be finished in time for Heaven and Earth Designs' August Reward Program. It means that I could choose a new pattern that costs 12 dollars or less for free. If I can't make it in time, the next time I can do that is in January.

Kaksi eriväristä yliviivaustussia ja sakset. Vihreällä merkitsen, mitä symbolia kirjon seuraavaksi.
Punaisella merkitsen parkkeerattuje lankojen kohdat. Tummalla tussilla (tällä hetkellä sininen) merkitsen jo tehdyt pistot.

Two different coloured highlighters and scissors. With the green one I mark the symbols that I'm about to stitch next. With the red one I mark the parked threads. With a dark marker (at this moment a blue one) I mark stitches that are already done.

 Tältä ristipistomallini näyttää. Tuo takana oleva viher-ruskea juttu on pahvinen kirjoitalusta.
